How different is Acrylic Nail paint from regular Acrylic Paint?

Is there any difference in the formulas? You might think I want to use regular acrylic paint on nails, when it's the other way around. I want to use the Nail paint on crafts and what-not.How different is Acrylic Nail paint from regular Acrylic Paint?
If by ';regular acrylic paint'; you mean artist's acrylic, than yes there is a big difference. Acrylic nail polish is is a solvent based enamel. Artist's acrylics are water based. I wouldn't recommend using artist's acrylics on your nails. It will just peel off in no time at all. However, using nail polish for craft projects is a great idea. It's a rock hard, and very durable enamel. So I say go for it, and have some fun.How different is Acrylic Nail paint from regular Acrylic Paint?
i agree. so many nail techs use acrylic paint that u find at craft stores and walmart. nail paint is just soo expensive. for example u can burn music on cdr's but they have music cdr's that are more money but u can just burn on reg. cdr's. same concept!

Acrylic nail paint is paint for acrylic nails, not acrylic paint. It requires a solvent to remove, so is still considered an enamel. Even if it has acrylics in its structure, it is mixed in a solvent-based binder. They can't be mixed with acrylic paint while wet.





Still, there's no reason you can't use this paint on top of other acrylics, but because it dries with such a shiny finish, artists' and crafter's acrylics won't adhere if you use them on top.

It is the same question in a way. The same material for very different purposes. The purpose dictates how the material should act and react and how it is manufactured.





They are both acrylic but the way it is used in production makes it behave differently. Strictly speaking the formula is the same just the recipe of production is different.
I am a nail tech and there is no difference between nail acrylic paint and craft acrylic paint. the only difference is one is retailed in craft stores and the other in nail supply stores and size. In fact alot of nail techs use regular craft paint to do nail art. You get more for your money.





So if you want to use acrylic paint thats meant for nail art to do crafts with then go right ahead. Its the same thing.
